Angela Delvecchio

Angela Delvecchio

A Friend to Die For is an American TV movie made in 1994 by William A. Graham. Written by Randall Sullivan and originally title Death of a Cheerleader,[1] the film is based on Graham's own Rolling Stone magazine article concerning the real-life murder of a high school girl by her jealous classmate. Kirsten Costas, a fifteen year old cheerleader at Miramonte High School was killed by Bernadette Protti, a less popular classmate in 1984.[2]
The movie stars Kellie Martin as Angela Delvecchio, a girl who wants to be popular. She idolizes Stacy Lockwood (Tori Spelling), the most popular girl at school and wants to become a cheerleader. When she joins the "Larks", an elite group of girls in her high school, she tries to forge a friendship with Stacy, who rejects her. Angela, determined to be friends with Stacy, calls her mother and anonymously invites her to a party. After Stacy gets in the car with Angela and they drive a fair way, it is revealed that Angela was not directly invited to the party herself. Infuriated, Stacy calls Angela a freak and runs from the car. Ultimately, Angela stabs Stacy multiple times and leaves her for dead. Angela avoids capture in the weeks following the incident, but as the authorities slowly close in, she confesses to her mother as she is consumed with guilt.

About Kelle Martin
Kellie Noelle Martin (born October 16, 1975) is an Emmy Award-nominated American television actress who is probably best known for her roles as Rebecca Thacher on Life Goes On and as Lucy Knight on ER.
A native of Riverside, California, Martin loved to perform for her close-knit family. She began her acting career at age seven, when her aunt Rhonda Jett (mother of Kyle Jett), a nanny for actor Michael Landon's children, helped Martin land a guest spot on the Landon produced series Father Murphy.
Among many roles in motion pictures, made-for-TV movies and television series, she is perhaps most famous for her role as Rebecca "Becca" Thatcher on the drama Life Goes On, which ran on ABC (1989–1993), and for her role as med student Lucy Knight on the NBC drama ER (1998–2000). Martin also contributed the voice of Daphne Blake on the animated series A Pup Named Scooby-Doo.
Martin graduated from Yale University in 2001 with a degree in art history. She was a member of Saybrook College.
She married Keith Christian in May 15, 1999 in his hometown of Polson, Montana. The pair had their first child, a daughter named Margaret Heather 'Maggie' Christian, on November 4, 2006. She is named after Martin's sister Heather, who died due to lupus erythematosus at age 19.
Martin has at times been compared to and even confused by fans for actress Sarah Michelle Gellar[1]. Sarah Michelle Gellar played Daphne in the 2002 live-action film Scooby Doo, while Martin did the voice of Daphne from 1988 to 1991.
